Privacy Policy

Effective date: 12 October 2026 · Version 1.1

This policy explains how DBO Bilgi Teknolojileri (“DBO”), as data controller, processes personal data in connection with the SQLlightspeed software (“Software”) and the sqllightspeed.com website (“Site”). It is issued under Turkish Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (“KVKK”). The Turkish version prevails in case of any discrepancy.

1. Data controller

DBO Bilgi Teknolojileri · Koşuyolu Mahallesi, Salih Omurtak Sokak No:78, Kadıköy, İstanbul, Türkiye · info@dbo.com.tr

2. In short: what never leaves your computer

3. Data processed, purposes and legal grounds

3.1 Trial, purchase and contact

Data: name, company, e-mail address, billing details and the content of the e-mails you send us.
Purpose: handling trial and license requests, invoicing and support.
Legal ground: performance of a contract (KVKK art. 5/2-c), legal obligation (art. 5/2-ç).
Retention: invoices and accounting records for the period required by law (up to 10 years under Turkish tax and commercial law); other correspondence for 2 years after the relationship ends.

3.2 License activation

Data: license key, an irreversible hash (SHA-256) of the device identifier (the raw identifier is never sent), computer name and operating system type; your IP address when connecting to our server.
Purpose: limiting a license to one computer, activation and moving a license to another computer.
Legal ground: performance of a contract (art. 5/2-c).
Retention: for the subscription period and 1 year after it ends. With offline activation, this data is processed through the channel you use to send us the request code.

3.3 Site visits, update checks and plugin catalogue

Data: IP address, request time, requested page, referring address, browser details and (for the Software) application version/platform when connecting to our server (server access logs).
Purpose: serving the Site, new versions and plugins, keeping the service secure, and measuring in aggregate which pages of the Site are visited and from where. IP addresses are anonymised when statistics are produced; no individual profiles are built, no cookies or tracking code are used, and this data is not sent to any third-party analytics service.
Legal ground: legitimate interest (art. 5/2-f).
Retention: access logs for 10 days. Anonymised aggregate statistics are not personal data and may be kept indefinitely.

3.4 Error reports (only if you send one)

Data: the report you choose to send with “Report a bug”: your description, an optional e-mail address, the contents of open worksheets (SQL text), application messages and logs, an optional screenshot, the active connection definition, and version and operating system details. Passwords, license keys and similar secrets are masked before sending.
Purpose: diagnosing and fixing the problem you report.
Legal ground: performance of a contract (art. 5/2-c) and legitimate interest (art. 5/2-f).
Retention: until the problem is resolved, and no longer than 12 months.
Important: a report contains what is on your screen and in your worksheets when you send it. Please make sure no third-party personal data from your database ends up in it. Without internet access the report is only saved to a file; whether to send it to us is your decision.

3.5 LightspeedTune feedback (alpha, optional plugin)

Data: if you install the LightspeedTune plugin and give feedback (thumbs up/down) on a suggestion, the context of that analysis (which may include the query text and the analysis result). The plugin also connects to our server to download its model file.
Purpose: improving the accuracy of suggestions.
Legal ground: legitimate interest (art. 5/2-f); no analysis content is sent unless you press a feedback button.
Retention: no longer than 24 months.

4. Transfers

Your personal data is not sold or shared for marketing. Our servers are hosted by Hetzner Online GmbH in data centres in the European Union (Germany); the data above is therefore transferred abroad within the scope of KVKK art. 9. It may also be shared with competent public authorities as required by law and with our accountant for invoicing.

5. How data is collected

Electronically: from your e-mails, from connections between the Software and our server (license, updates, plugins) and from submissions you start (error reports, LightspeedTune feedback).

6. Your rights

Under KVKK art. 11 you have the right to learn whether your personal data is processed, to request information about it, to learn the purpose of processing and whether it is used accordingly, to know the third parties it is transferred to, to request correction of incomplete or inaccurate data, to request deletion or destruction under art. 7, to request that these actions be notified to the third parties concerned, to object to a result against you arising exclusively from automated analysis, and to claim compensation for damage caused by unlawful processing.

Send requests to info@dbo.com.tr or to the postal address above. Requests are answered free of charge within 30 days at the latest.

7. Changes

This policy may be updated. The current version is published on this page with its effective date.
